Jymbo is a fitness app designed to make going to the gym feel less intimidating, more playful and easier to stick with.

The Pain Point
Gym apps have an image problem.
The fitness industry tends to speak in extremes.
Transformations. Discipline. PRs. Six-packs. No pain, no gain.
But for someone who is intimidated by the gym, that language can make starting feel even harder.
We wondered what would happen if fitness stopped taking itself quite so seriously.

Meet Jymbo
Your new gym buddy
We created Jymbo as the antidote to the intimidating fitness expert.
He isn't your personal trainer, shouting at you from across the gym. He’s supportive, a little cheeky, and always in your corner, whether you’re smashing a workout or just making it through the door.

It isn’t about showing off

Designing the experience
Less, But More Often
The app's design shares the same philosophy as our approach to workouts. Removing all the unwanted complicated stuff and keeping our minds clear and focused.
PLAYFUL
Emotional design thatengages and delights.
SUPPORTIVE
Healthy habbit tracking that feels friendly and rewarding.
ACCESSIBLE
Custom tools that streamline the tracking process.

Building the brand

motion & Interactivity
An app that encorages movement, shouldn't just sit there.
Rive quickly became our tool of choice for creating rich and characterful animations. It's built-in state machines allow us to push past the standard UX designs out there and create an experience that delights and keeps the user coming back. On top of that, the runtimes are extremely efficient keeping the app feeling light.

A workout that takes
the work out
Jymbo is still taking shape, but the foundations are in place. From the character and visual identity to the product experience, we’ve created a brand designed to make fitness feel more approachable, more human and a little less serious. As the app continues to develop, so will Jymbo, but the idea remains the same: make getting to the gym feel like something you actually want to do.
